We’re chatting with Isaac & Shannon!
History
How did you two meet?
We met at a coffee shop in Long Beach!
What was the first thing you noticed about your partner?
I saw that Shannon was really pretty and had a great smile. And she was really friendly!
What is your favorite thing about your significant other? And, if there *is* a least fave thing, feel free to share that, but let's keep it light. ;) For example, Sara's husband would love it if she stopped burning everything she puts in the toaster oven, but he loves her anyway LOL)
Shannon has the best attitude. She's got the best laugh and uses it all the time.
Tell us about the proposal!
I rented a cabin up in Idylwild California and on my birthday weekend brought out our friends and we had a good time. It might have been a little pre-mature, but it caused us to have some really healthy dialog and take our relationship very seriously.

What are the top things that stand out most in your memory about wedding planning?
The time is flying by. The decision to find a venue is the most upstream. Picking a funky format for the wedding weekend itself. Hopefully people don't freak out about the 2 night minimum.
Do you plan to participate in any family traditions, or incorporate any heirlooms into your wedding?
My family has sung the doxology around the dinner table for 4 or 5 generations. I hope to continue that. Other than that, nothing comes to mind.
Tell us about the wedding planning process. Have you run into any obstacles? How did you overcome them?
Covid-19
What was the most important decision you made about your wedding?
The wedding venue which requires everyone to rent a cabin and stay for 2 nights or they can't come to the wedding.
What have you learned since you started the wedding planning process?
I have always thought that the planning would be pretty involved. Maybe it's because I'm already a wedding pro, but there really aren't that many decisions to make. I don't get why people think it's such a crazy set of things to figure out. Here, watch, i'll do it for you right now... Where do you want to get married? Cool, make sure that they're open on the date you want to get married on. Who's invited? Who's on your bridal party? What are you going to eat? Make sure you everyone has a place and tools to eat. Pick something to wear. Find a place to stay that weekend. Let people know when to be there. Do you want anything else to happen like a band? Make sure to tell the band when to be there. Also, make a list of thing people can buy you because that's gonna happen. Now just answer any questions your parents have about spending money on you. See? Wedding planning is easy. Anyone can do it.
What are you most excited about?
I really am excited to have all of my communities co-mingling. To really get some quality time with people if at all possible.
Anything else?
Have something else to share? A funny story? Something crazy that happened? Let's Dish!
I'm sure things will come up organically
