S4E4: No Crazy Diets at our Table! Just Intuitive Eating | Married Human and Entrepreneur
Setting unrealistic expectations and crazy dieting should be a thing of the past.
With the body positivity movement, you'd think it's old news.
But, it's still very much the case for most people. Katelyn Parsons is on a mission to change that.
Sara is joined by guest co-host Taylor de la Fuente of Lemon Tree Editorial.
How did you two meet?
On a rooftop bar...even though he likes to call it a "lounge" (seriously)
What was the first thing you noticed about your partner?
His plaid shirt and his eyes
Wedding Date:
April 22, 2018
Wedding Location:
Orlando, FL at The Acre
Approx. number of guests who attended your wedding:
100
What were your top 5 favorite moments from your wedding?
Spending the morning with my besties watching Father of the Bride and eating popcorn in my parents living room
Looking out during our ceremony and watching our family and friends hold up signs with their favorite fun facts about us/notes of love.
Walking into the dinner tent and just taking it all in
Our first dance
The after-party!!!
What, if anything, would you change about the wedding planning process?
Some of the wedding conversations- better communication/boundary setting, etc.
What, if anything, would you change about your wedding day?
nothinggggg
What was the planning process like? Did you run into any obstacles? How did you overcome them?
It POURED the morning of our wedding but I knew it would all work out :)
What is your favorite thing about your significant other? And, if there *is* a least fave thing, feel free to share that, but let's keep it light. ;) For example, Sara's husband would love it if she stopped burning everything she puts in the toaster oven, but he loves her anyway LOL)
He's always the LAST to leave ha - anytime we try to leave anywhere it takes us 20 minutes...but that's because he genuinely loves people and conversation.
What’s the best thing that’s happened in your lives since getting married?
Honestly, just celebrating the simplicity of our everyday life- drinking coffee together in the morning, cuddling with our pets in bed, walking on the beach, making dinner to Ella Fitzgerald in the background, watching SNL every week with our favorite ice cream, going on spontaneous adventures.
What is the most surprising difference between being married vs living together?
Merging finances- it's actually brought us SO much closer unexpectedly.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our audience?
As a body image + intuitive eating coach, I'd love to talk about some of the body image struggles/insecurities/pressure that so many women face but are ashamed to open up about because the cultural expectation of weight loss & weddings has become so normalized. This goes beyond weight & body size as well. I went through these challenges during my wedding planning and am happy to speak to them personally + professionally.
