SHOW NOTES

Wedding Date: September 02, 2017

Wedding Location: Coonamessett Inn, Falmouth, MA - Lauren's hometown on Cape Cod

Approx. number of guests who attended your wedding: 155

How did you two meet?

Originally - Through mutual friends at a party. Ran into each other a year later at a bar...and another year before going on our first date but have been together ever since.

What was the first thing you noticed about your partner?

For Lauren - first noticed the hat London was wearing (The Maret School where he was a baseball coach, and Lauren played rec soccer there on weekends), then his eyes.

Tell us about the proposal!

You can watch it for yourself!

What were your top 5 favorite moments from your wedding?

All the laughter during the ceremony. London had a "final boogie" - he did a little dance before we exchanged vows. And he got a LOT of laughs from his unique vows. - The food, and homemade wedding cake made by Lauren's mom - The music. - Being surrounded by our family and friends - London & Lauren bucks! (fake $100 bills with embarrassing pictures of us when we were kids)

What, if anything, would you change about the wedding planning process?

In hindsight, I would have used an online RSVP system rather than the mail-in response cards.

What, if anything, would you change about your wedding day?

Hired a videographer

Did you participate in any family traditions, or incorporate any heirlooms into your wedding?

Lauren's grandfather gave her a bonnet made from a handkerchief to wear home from the hospital that was her "something old" - it was wrapped around her bouquet.

What was the planning process like? Did you run into any obstacles? How did you overcome them?

The toughest part was planning a wedding in Massachusetts while living in DC. Our wedding photographer just happened to be making a trip to the DC area a few months prior, so we got to do a mini-engagement photo shoot with her. It was great for us to get to know each other before the big day. And having family who lived in MA helped a lot.

What was the most important decision you made about your wedding?

We wanted the person officiating to be someone who knew us. We chose London's cousin Keisha to do the honors.

What is your favorite thing about your significant other? And, if there *is* a least fave thing, feel free to share that, but let's keep it light. ;) For example, Sara's husband would love it if she stopped burning everything she puts in the toaster oven, but he loves her anyway LOL)

London would love it Lauren could make more decisions! Lauren would love it if London would not eat all of the snacks as soon as she goes grocery shopping!

What’s the best thing that’s happened in your lives since getting married?

We moved out of our tiny 1 bedroom apartment into a big, 3 bedroom house with a front porch and back yard (and a dishwasher and washer/dryer)!

What is the most surprising difference about being married vs living together?

It really doesn't feel much different.
