We swiped right in 2014 lol #tinder
What was the first thing you noticed about your partner?
This sounds horrible but because of Tinder, his abs
Tell us about the proposal!
Cliff notes - We were in Sunriver, Oregon for a holiday weekend with my fam. He surprised me with a photographer and then while we were taking pics post me saying yes my family walked out AND his parents and my two best friends, he had arranged for them to fly/travel up. We celebrated with a champagne toast then I was whisked off to a celebratory dinner party with all those in town. It was epic.
What were your top 5 favorite moments from your wedding?
Waking up and realizing today was the day.
Our first look
The actually vows during the ceremony
My MOH lead a surprise "dance mob" for her speech
Our intimate bride and groom photoshoot in between events
What, if anything, would you change about the wedding planning process?
We DIY-d EVERYTHING, and I worked on trade with a relatively new wedding planner, she convinced me she didn't need help setting up on the day of, and she definitely did, not everything was out or where it was supposed to be and I definitely noticed.
What, if anything, would you change about your wedding day?
The above statement. Also, I let myself get upset with the actions of a few family members. Also, disappointed by my caterer and DJ - so I guess some of my vendor choices!
Did you participate in any family traditions, or incorporate any heirlooms into your wedding?
I had a new tradition during the ceremony that I had seen at a wedding once. I did do the something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.
What was the planning process like? Did you run into any obstacles? How did you overcome them?
Hectic - exciting and awful - I had MANY breakdowns, my planner became my therapist in a way. My mom did A LOT because I was planning from out of state.
What was the most important decision you made about your wedding?
My groom! haha. Also, my venue I would say.
What is your favorite thing about your significant other? And, if there *is* a least fave thing, feel free to share that, but let's keep it light. ;) For example, Sara's husband would love it if she stopped burning everything she puts in the toaster oven, but he loves her anyway LOL)
Favorite thing, he is incredibly loyal and hardworking....but I'd really appreciate if he could learn to close a damn cabinet!
What’s the best thing that’s happened in your lives since getting married?
We bought our house which was a huge milestone and because it was a new-build got to fully design our backyard together, it was amazing. Also, pre covid we're both equally adventurous so we've had some great trips!
What is the most surprising difference about being married vs living together?
We lived together before we were married. I think the biggest difference with marriage in my mind is that there is no longer an "out" breaking up doesn't come to mind as an option when things get tough anymore.
Have something else to share? A funny story? Something crazy that happened? Let's Dish!
I almost died on the last night of our honeymoon, it was super dramatic but lived to tell the tale - happy to talk about that if you want to hear haha.
